How-to guides

Send

One person at a time, from your own Gmail or Outlook. Every email waits for your tap.

Drawn from the app, with made-up people and firms.

Connect your email

Signed in with Apple, or Gmail didn't connect? Send shows "Connect Gmail and Calendar", and Connect Gmail or Outlook sits where Send it would be. It opens "Connect your email" with two choices.

Gmail
A sheet says what Gmail and Calendar are for. Go to Google, then on Google's screen tap Select all, then Continue. Gmail sends your emails, and Calendar finds when you're free for a call.
Outlookpersonal Outlook.com only
For an Outlook.com, Hotmail or Live address, not a school or work email. Go to Microsoft, sign in, and tap Accept.

Nothing can send until your email is connected.

Get their email

Someone from Find with no address yet shows Confirm who this is (or Get their email) and two ways to get it.

Find it free
Type their last name, or paste their LinkedIn link, and tap Find their email. A pasted link fills the name for you: correct it if it's off. The LinkedIn button under the box searches for them.
Unlock with Apollowhen you have unlocks left
Their email and a draft written around their work history, for 1 of your free Apollo unlocks.
Already have their email? Type it hereonce the last name is known
Type it, then Use it.
Skip for nowbottom
The next person comes up.

Under the address, the app says where it came from: "Verified address" (their reply, Apollo, or an email that went through), "Verified format" (built from the firm's email format, which has worked there before), or "First email to this firm. If it bounces, we'll fix it for you." If it bounces, Today shows it with the ways to fix it.

Why you're writing

The row above the email shows the reason it is written around. Change picks another: General interest in the firm, They work in my hometown, We went to the same school, Someone introduced me to them, or Something else. The app asks for the one detail it needs, like who introduced you, and that name goes in the subject line.

The email shows the way it will be sent. Tap anything to change it.
